On today’s episode, Know Your Role(s) welcomes comedian, actor, and documentary filmmaker Jessica Watkins to the pod! On tap in this week’s Bar Talk are NBA Champions the Milwaukee Bucks, Kanye West’s new album "Donda,” and the new Nicolas Cage film "Pig.” Jessica walks the fellas through her comedy special documentary film “SPECIALish.” From conception to an eight month walk across the US to years of post production, Jessica’s experiences on unfamiliar stages, in the “magical, weird mirage” of Pie Town, and in the homes of strangers along the way make her an exciting and terrifically thought-provoking guest as she continues to embrace trust in the unknown. This week’s game tunes in to Jessica’s southern songbird roots as the gang compares Country music artists to pizza toppings from the salty green olives of Emmylou Harris to Billy Ray Cyrus’ $.99 frozen pie! In today’s Last Call, George has officially entered baseball season, while Dave celebrates his film “On the Way North” being deemed a must watch by entertainment website Film Shortage! Producer Mary Bess brings good news to her regular booth with the ACLU’s small but mighty victory against anti-trans legislation in Arkansas, as well as bad news with the Republican-controlled Texas Senate passing legislation that seeks to strike BIPOC history from the Lone Star State’s preliminary school curricula.
